Hello Editors,

Recently we came across your blog and we are please to announce to you the 6th issue of the Journal of Aesthetics and Protest. We'd like to share it with you and your blog's readers- we are certain that you will find it of great interest to you. We would like to send you a PDF version of our current issue (available in print and online) for you to check out.

The Journal of Aesthetics and Protest Press has published 6 issues of its titular publication as well as the books An Atlas of Radical Cartography, Failure! Experiments in Aesthetic and Social Practices as well as the web document In the Middle of a Whirlwind.

This current issue explores three themes- sustainable resistant culture, antiwar art, and a general theory section exploring creative and critical culture. We are sure you'll like it.

The Journal of Aesthetics and Protest has been recognized as one of the most innovative and important projects of its kind, and has an international audience of artists, activists and theorists. This just released issue (6) is included in the current California Biennial. Our print design has been awarded multiple recognitions from AIGA as well as Print Magazine. Print remarked in their just released design annual that our publications are "remarkable".

The Journal of Aesthetics and Protest is responsible for introducing to the country such artists as Trevor Paglen, Fallen Fruit, My Barbarian and the Center for Tactical Magic. It's printed important essays and thoughts by writers Marinna Sitrin, Brian Holmes, Ben Shepard, Nato Thompson and Gregg Shollete.

Interested in receiving a digital copy of the entire text?

Sincerely,
Robby Herbst

oh nix hello there!
I remember my dear friend lou snorting at the mention of Dewey - he was rather exemplary of his time (racist, sexist), although, endearingly, he owned a set of monogrammed cufflinks enscribed "R" for "Reformer".
All systems are falliable, I think. maybe dewey isn't the right one?
... i know that loss of love for writing, when the plan doesn't seem so exciting. Which leads me to think that just over the edge of the plan is this other world teeming with illustrious things of wonder and delight, and the more you write, the planning gathers itself together like voltron, and with a little jingle and generic launch scene, your writing is ready to play in the meadow over the edge too!

Or, everytime you feel your writing is gridlocked, give a little bit to someone who hasn't read it, and then your old love and wonder will come back to you from them, yes? perhaps?

If you like imperfect music, have a listen to this: http://www.alisterspence.com/ ...so lovely!

at the moment my life and my work feel too much like taxonomy: i am literally reshelving books, trying to put them in an order; i print out the dewey decimal system and get stuck on 290 - other and comparative religions, i keep searching, trying to find ever smaller increments in the numbers, but never being able to blast that section open, to force 280 and 300 to shuffle over; my writing becomes gridlike, gridlocked, there is no love or wonder in the way it has been planned and broken down into little lego blocks. and so i turn to old comforts, old books, cradle the leather between my hands and go on an adventure of typesetting and illustration. i think i am searching for imperfect music, or a stranger's papercut blood.
